Common questions

Quick answers

Do I really need the AHA online course finished before I book? +

Yes. AHA requires that the online portion be completed before any in-person skills check-off. Bring your AHA online completion certificate to your appointment — it's required to issue your eCard.

Is this course accepted by my employer or clinical program? +

Yes. We're an authorized AHA Training Site, and the eCard issued is identical to any other AHA Provider course eCard. It's the same credential, just split into two parts (online + skills) at your request.

What does the eCard look like, and when do I get it? +

Your eCard is digital and issued through the American Heart Association's official eCard system. It's emailed to you after your successful skills check-off, usually within a few business days.

What should I bring to my skills check-off? +

Bring your AHA online completion certificate (printed or on your phone), a photo ID, and clothes you can move in. We provide manikins, AEDs, and all the equipment.

What if I don't pass my skills check the first time? +

Skills checks are coached, not gotcha-style. If you're struggling on a step, your instructor will walk you through it. In the rare case a re-check is needed, we'll work with you on the next available slot.

I've been at this a while — will I be embarrassed if I'm rusty? +

No judgment, ever. Returning students and "haven't run a code in years" clinicians are a regular part of who we train. You'll get warm, supportive instruction — that's a promise.
